Whether you are sitting in your room working on homework during study hall, in the gym feeling the burn, or you’re hustling between classes, music makes everything better. So, Wapiti Weekly has some recommendations for you, from smash hits to mood playlists, to podcasts to get your brain pumping.
drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo (Explicit)
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actress, Olivia Rodrigo, dropped her first single, drivers license, on January 8 and it quickly took the music world by storm. Rodrigo’s song, which she wrote during quarantine, now tops the United States and Global Spotify charts and broke Spotify’s record for most streams of a song in a day and most streams of a song in a week. This song is the perfect teenage “in your feels” song and is worthy of non-stop repeat. Rodrigo plans to release a full EP later this year, so the world has not heard the last of Olivia.
evermore (deluxe version) by Taylor Swift (Explicit)
After releasing her surprise album, folklore, this past July, Taylor Swift has released yet another album, folklore’s sister record, evermore, on December 11, 2020. Named for its finale track featuring Bon Iver, this album is filled with indie-pop ballads, low-fi influences, and her first twinges of country music since the very early 2010s. With a tune to fit every mood, evermore features stories of heartbreak, forbidden love, and even murder. This album is highly recommended (we encourage you to check out the rest of her discography, as well).
